Girls' Trip

Brother Lee went on a Man Trip with his brother-in-laws up in Oregon, mainly with the purpose of enjoying the beach with their quads and dune buggies. Christina drove up to Willows to see her family, and invited three of us girls to go with her. The following pictures are from Sunday afternoon. We walked a mile out to some almond orchards....

Josina W. and Amy

Josina, Amy, Rachel, me, Mary, and Sarah

They had piggies. Five to be exact. Bobby Sue, Charlotte, Hamlet, Bacon, and (the last one). I'm glad that we haven't had pigs here. =P

Mary and Rachel walked approx. 3/4 mile backwards on the way there. It was very unique and unusual method of traveling. And funny to watch. :-D

all of us plus Mrs. W. and Christina (Mary says that Duchess counts, too.)

The girls saw the canal and decided it was warm enough to try it out.

They said the mud was really deep (like 8 inches) and felt really good.

And, they did wash their feetsies when they got back.

Wheeeee!

THIS looks similar to the little red chariot I rode in on Monday.

The calls were fun! It helped cement certain procedures in my brain and clarify how an actual call goes. If that makes sense...I'm going to see if there are any more days that I can do a ride-shift on. Several more students were recently added onto the class, so it's that many more that have to ride, that many less options of days. =)

The ambulance I rode in was great. But. What if we had one like this?

See the people? How big that thing is?!!! WOW! That would be a ride you would remember! Man, I'd love to have one of those in my backyard...=P I bet I would have enough room to take you all for a spin. And take up the whole wide road and then some!
(That's what happens when you Google 'ambulance pictures.' You never know what they'll come up with.)

Mark of the Lion Triology

Book 1:

A Voice in the Wind, Mark of the Lion Series #1

"#1 A Voice in the Wind: This first book in the classic best-selling Mark of the Lion series brings readers back to the first century and introduces them to a character they will never forget—Hadassah. Torn by her love for a handsome aristocrat, a young slave girl clings to her faith in the living God for deliverance from the forces of decadent Rome."

Yep, I enjoyed this book extremely! It didn't mince matters. Told things how they were. And the Christians stayed strong for the Lord. Romans 1 kept coming to mind over and over. How truly it was portrayed here. And the fact that if you start with one "little" sin, how easy it is to do another. The downward spiral is vicious!
I'm looking forward to finishing this series a generous friend has allowed me to borrow. =)

Flowers B

The second chapter on hair flowers. That is, the rest of the ones that came before. =)

Watch out, fingers!

- before sewing together and adding clippie and beads -

Note to self: it takes a lot longer to do many flowers vs. limiting it to 2 or 3.
(P.S. I didn't finish them all!)

Uniform

I at last remembered that some want to see pictures of my EMT uniform. Well, that is, I remembered to take the pictures. =) They aren't the best--it was a late night. Don't laugh too hard. =P Did you know how tricky it is to take a picture in the mirror??! I'll try to get some better ones some day...

 The girls were intrigued.

 I told them to smile.

 Not like that, tho.

Ambulance ride is coming up! and mid-terms. =/ Somehow, one is a wee bit more exciting than the other. Blood pressures remain unconquered. And I still like the class. So, there's your update!

BROWNIE

Here is the latest, newest, cleverest idea of the year:

Brownie in a Mug!

4 Tbsp. flour
4 Tbsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. cocoa
1 Tbsp. butter, melted
2 Tbsp. milk
dash salt, opt.
chocolate chips, opt.

Step 1: Mix the dry ingredients together in a mug.

Step 2: Add the liquid ingredients, stirring well so that all the powder is mixed in.

Step 3: Microwave for approx. 1 minute; stopping at 30 seconds to add a few chocolate chips (or you can add them whenever you please).

[In this photo, I had slightly stirred it after it was cooked.]

When it is cooked, it will look like cake, sorta. But it's gooey and yummy!

Absolutely delicious and a great experiment. Your family will probably want to know how you made it and you'll most likely be requested to make it often. What a magnificent way to get your own, personal brownie! To add to the deliciousness, try a scoop of ice cream with the finished product. Extra milk, mint chips, a spoonful of peanut butter---lot's of options so you have a valid reason of making more than one!

Champions

Super Bowl Champions:
New York Giants!

What a face to make!

I like his face mask the best.

A lot of teamwork.

I actually did not see much of the game. =/ But the last minute was fun! Cleaning for Small Groups and having people present didn't make it the most easy time to enjoy a game. I'm satisfied with the results, tho. =) I probably would not have put these pictures on, except that 1) I was already on here 2) had a few free minutes 3) thought it was something fun to put on 4) there were pictures all ready to go!

Flowers A

The first step of making fabric flowers.

 Circles. Circles. And more circles.

Waiting to have a flower fastened on.

My handy little organizer. Isn't it cute?!
